Latina Futures, 2050 Lab: Advancing Latina Representation & Leadership

California 100

Latinas are one of the fastest growing demographics in the United States, yet Latina voices are still disproportionately underrepresented and often overlooked in government and public policy decisions. The Latina Futures, 2050 Lab, founded by Veronica Terriquez, who directs UCLA’s Chicano Studies Research Center, and Sonja Diaz, founding director of the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute, have joined together to provide much-needed insights on the experiences of Latinas across the country and the policies thataffect them most through research and data. This ambitious project was funded through a $15 million California state budget investment and is an important step forward in investing and integrating Latinas in public policy.
